Mavi is the Turkish word for the colour blue. Mavi has a deep significance in Turkish culture, and for us as the founders of Mavi Avlu it is associated with the colour of the Mediterranean sea where we grew up, with the blue mountains in the background.

Avlu is an old Turkish word meaning atrium, the area in the middle of a building where people can gather and spend time together.

For us, the name Mavi Avlu captures what we want to do: bringing people together in a place by the sea where you can enjoy the time away from home by yourself or with others, and still feel at home. Our apartment names are taken from old Turkish, and each of them evokes a particular mood that we hope you too will experience once you stay with us.

We, the founders of Mavi Avlu, are brother-and-sister team Sercan and Isil, who were born in and grew up in Antalya. Growing up in a large family home, we were always welcoming visitors from different countries and it is here that we discovered our love for meeting people from different countries and exploring Antalya with them. These days the family is even more international – with connections with Ireland, England and Germany. With our culturally diverse background and passion for exploring different cultures, we bring different ideas from the world together and share our knowledge  and excitement about Antalya with you. Together with a team of family members, we are passionate about the beauty of Mediterranean Turkey and are driven by our love of hospitality as well as our vision of a sustainable tourism in our home town of Antalya.
